Got Jars?

Thanks for all the suggestions on spice jars!

The Container store had 1 oz and 2 oz plastic screw-top jars for 79 and 99 cents (which was the price I wanted to keep them around).  I bought 10 of each (I'm sure I'll need more) and look forward to getting all the dry pigments decanted.

I asked Silvana Barret at the Getty workshop if she wears a filter mask and gloves when she is working with the pigments and she said no, she is just careful.  I think I'll wear a filter mask and gloves *and* be careful.  :)
I have a few pigments that are toxic (they are labeled) but most of them are not.    I don't lick my paintbrushes or anything weird like that, and once you add a binder to the paint it's pretty safe (provided you aren't ,you know, licking your paintbrush or drinking your rinse water or something else equally bizare.)

Last night, Medb had a "traveling" scriptorium.  It was awesome!  Four new scrolls are done or nearly done.  About 4 more are laid out and ready for calligraphy.  I have one that needs a little more lay out but the calligraphy is done.  I'll turn it over to some one else to paint when I get the arms/mantling/supporters done.  The Ream family hosted it (and other than having it take me over 90 minutes to get there after work and having trouble finding the house once I reached the neighborhood) it was all perfect.  They had tables up in various parts of their apartment, and there were scribes everywhere working on things.  Look out for young Aurelia. :)  She's an immensely talented artist. :)

I did all the outlining on the scroll I'm working on and only need some penwork around a couple of initials and signature lines and such to have it finished.

Next project is my new chemise, but I'm also planning out the next several scrolls.
