Work day?

I'm at work today. There's supposed to be a few other people working this week (what's left of it), but so far I'm the only one here in my department. I rather expect that little work will get done today (though there is a box of old stuff that I'd like to go through and dump (continuing the theme of the last few days.))

I did a lot of cleaning at home, or rather decluttering. The condo is not really clean, I'm a poor housekeeper at best, but I've been getting rid of things which is all to the good. I would like to sit down and make a master plan for each room. How it should be kept, and what I want to do decorating wise.

My family came over for a little bit yesterday to see the new comforter and to see the tapestry I put up. (Yes.....we're a strange family that share odd things like that. Ask about the closet story sometime. :) Mom suggested that I could put built in cabinets in the bedroom (which is pretty big) and it's something I've never thought about. I'll have to think about it. The place could really do with more storage. A built in unit along the one short wall might really be cool.

We went to see "National Treasure" which is a silly fun movie. Brain candy. Don't let yourself think about how preposterous it is and just enjoy it. I did. After we went for Thai food. (It was one of the few places that was open in the area, but I like Thai food and the food is pretty good there). I found myself in the weird position of being the expert at the table in Thai food. Which of course is weird, cuz when it comes to food, I'm certainly no expert. But I had been to that restaurant before and I've had Thai food before. My sister is starting to be more finicky then I am, she didn't like most of it.

I finished watching Onmyoji last night. Strange, sad, beautiful film. It took me a while to get it to play in Japanese with English subtitles instead of the other way around, but I wanted to hear the original voices. I understand there is a sequel which I will put on my Netflix list.

Last year a lot of people did book lists of books they read. I think I'll do a running movie list. Netflix is cool! :)

Last man standing!

I'm the last one in my office. (In my department. There are a few people way around the corner in another department). Johanna took off about 20 minutes ago (but she left me a tamale!) I walked down to the mall expecting it to be busier but I wanted to go to the bookstore to see if they had this book on Supernatural (they didn't). I happened to pop into this one overpriced tschotchkes store (you know....candle sticks, boxes, weird mantel things) and I found this awesome little Moroccan carved table cheap! I've been looking for something like this for a couple of years now. I can't wait to get it home. Which....I should be doing shortly. I'm not sticking around if everyone else is gone.
