It was hot.

I went to CP Prize Tourney yesterday. It was hot. (This maybe a recurring theme of this post.) I didn't really do anything. Didn't volunteer for anything, wasn't in time to set up the Baronial pavilion, I felt like a lazy spaz.

The original play was to do some scribal stuff, but I never even got my stuff out even though Tetchubah brought a nice sturdy table and set it up. I did enjoy a good scribal conversation with Tetchubah, Christina, Ysabeau and a Laurel from An Tir whose name I'm not remembering. The An Tir Laurel felt that scribal arts were down all over, not just in Caid, which was interesting. I think we have to focus on doing things to improve the situation even if we don't know which will be successful. Maybe it will take lots of little changes.

I got to talk to some people I don't get to often and that's always fun. I threw Picts and Romans through Hadrian's Wall. (That was pretty amusing.) I totally missed seeing where the Arts Auction was. I also lost 2 out of 3 backgammon games in the backgammon tournament. (Though I did beat Captain Lot in a "pick-up" game :) though it was awfully close.) Backgammon Tournament-wise, I knew I was in trouble when Duchess Natalya (the overall winner) said at the beginning of our match that she was trying to remember her opening moves. And I was all "opening moves? Wha?" :) And there was sno-cones :)

I just got back from a 33 minute walk (I think I was moving a little slow, even with the mp3 player). I need to clean the house today, and check on a friend's cat and I hope to work on the shelves for the storage unit.
