Car Woes, Day 7
Aug. 1st, 2005 09:30 amCar still held hostage. I need to call everyone and find out what is going on. Supposedly the appraiser was there on Friday and was sending the paper work over but he hasn't called and the car place hasn't called and of course the insurance place hasn't called. Dreary.
I saw "Batman Begins" over the weekend (for free at the studio) and really enjoyed it. Okay so I kept thinking that Michael Caine was Edward Woodward (darn those wonderful British actors). I liked the performances and thought the story was fun, though it's mostly not cannon. Katie Holmes was weak, but it was more that we didn't see her motivation at all or why they just didn't kill her off, not really the actress's fault. Fun film. I liked it.
Went to Costume College on Sunday. It was fun to see all the people in costume. There were a couple of beautiful bustle dresses (and no you will never see me in one even if my sewing was that good), a fun Jedi costume and some pretty bizarre things. I bought a couple of books from Hedgehog and then helped them pack up at the end of the day.
Home Front: Did some cleaning over the weekend, nothing heroic. Rediscovered the value of getting up early. I got my marketing done and the store wasn't busy at all. Ditto doing laundry. It's nice not to have to fight for the machines at the condo.
SCA Front: I worked on my shift a little bit. I got the sleeves on but I'm worried that the seam of the sleeve is going to be really low. Really really low, like a third of the way down my arm. Mariam? If you read this, how did you fix this? You said you had the same problem. For the other sewers reading this, this is basically the rectangular cutting pattern from the Drea Leed's book and website. All rectangular pieces except for the triangular pieces under the arm.
Work Front: Oh....I'm supposed to be working?
