Holy Moley Batman!!

Someone(s) brought *all* their Halloween treats to work!!! There's candy, cupcakes, cookies and chips in the break room. I totally applaud them for getting the stuff out of their house where they won't be tempted, but what about us here at work that are trying to watch what we eat.

Mantra for the day: Do not go in the break room!!!!

We're also having our annual fire drill today. Oh boy! I'm a search monitor. I get to check all the rooms and tell people to go to the stairwell (and mark the doors). Of course half our group will be off at the Tuesday morning meeting (attorneys only), so it will be a silly and useless exercise.

Last night I didn't do much. Lit candles all over the house and turned the lights out. I wanted to clean up a little bit, but then I would have had to turn the lights out which is contrary to my Halloween ritual :) so I played on CoV instead. :)

Tonight is council meeting.

I think the weekend got a little easier. I thought I was gaming on Sunday but I'm thinking it's been postponed. Gotta double check on that. I think I need a full down-time be by myself day. Saturday is the USC-Stanford game which ought to be exciting.

Okay....time to do some work.

Fire Drill

Well.....we just had our annual fire drill. And we did great......by last year's standards. Apparently the procedures are all different this year....and no one told our department. What a flustercluck. The woman who said she was the Floor Warden (and said she was arranging a meeting which never happened) was a temp employee. With no authority to do anything. So, we didn't get the emails, didn't find out the procedures are all on line, etc. We're a multi-department floor. There are four different departments, but it's never been this uncoordinated before. Heck, the accounting guys down the hall just found out today that there was a fire drill.

Boggle.
