Last night I went to the William Paley Supernatural festival panel at the DGA which was totally awesome. I met Charles at my office in Century City where we left my car and then headed off to find dinner. We ended up at the Abbey which Charles has spoken of many times (gay restaurant/bar in West Hollywood) that I'd never been to before. The food was okay, but I was freezing. It got cold and I just had a light jacket on. Fun place though.
Then on to the Supenatural panel. I though we'd be there in plenty of time getting there around 6 for a 7 pm panel, but noooo :) People apparently started arriving around 4pm. Now that's devotion.
It was a great panel. They screened one of the episodes in the theatre in the DGA and it was great to see it on a big screen rather than on my dinky TV. (Note to self....maybe time for a bigger TV?) The guests were Kim Manners (director of several episodes of Supernatural and a former X-Files director), John Shiban (writer of several episodes of Supernatural and also an X-Files vet), Jensen Ackles (be still my heart), Jared Padelecki (and when the announcer tried to introduce these two there were much squeals from the (mostly young, female) audience, Robert Singer (Executive producer) and Eric Kripke (Creator, writer and producer of Supernatural). They were all amazingly funny and you could just see how much they like each other and enjoy working together. It was great, and I'll plan to go to some of the panels next year as well (but I doubt any of them will be as good as this.)
In other news, my friend came over and we painted the primer coat on the patio and I'm slightly dying now from the fumes. After all the hours and hours and hours of prep work, we painted the whole thing in about 20 minutes. Just need to wait 8 hours before doing the concrete stain. (I soooo can not wait for this project to be finished).
In more other news, I saw the cube I'm moving into on the 14th floor when we move next month, and it is *much* bigger than the horrid little thing I'm in now. And my boss still has hopes of getting Lisa and I moved into offices someday.
Later!
