Weekend Report

Saturday was Altavia Anniversary.  It was the stepping down of Bridgit and Laertes and the stepping up of Thorin and Courtney as Baron and Baroness.  The hijinks of the demise of the old regime and the stepping up of the new were very funny and good theatre.  We also got a surprise Pelicaning (well *I* knew :)  which was extremely well received but went on rather long.  (People do need to be aware of the length of times things run, especially in a court with a lot of things that need to be done.)  When I went up for the Pelican ceremony (Oh....Lorrisa du Griffin :) I was kneeling in a puddle!  It was wet and cold!  

I have to admit I mostly bailed on Court half-way through.  I'm normally a court junkie and like to see all of it, but I got restless and wanted to say hello to a few people.

The rest of the day was mostly hanging out at Scriptorium.  Medb did an intro class (I thought she was going to do a calligraphy class?) and while we've team-taught that before, sometimes it gets confusing if two people are talking so I mostly didn't :)  I did a little work on the two scrolls I'm working on and gave Medb one of them to do the calligraphy.  She gave me back a scriptorium scroll that I had done a little design work on.  I'm going to push the other two to the back of the stove for a couple of weeks and paint this one.  (Not fair, I know, but I can't get either of those two done before the deadline for this coronation but if I paint this one, I can get at least one done.)

It was pleasant at the event, it's a pretty park and I did get to talk to a few people I don't see that often.  The day seemed to go by super fast.

I went out to dinner with a few people and very wisely had chicken and steamed broccoli and didn't get the dangerous salad bar.
