May Day!

What a wonderful little event this was!

I went to Voyagers May Day tourney yesterday and had a wonderful good time. I haven't been to May Day in awhile and now can't figure out why I skipped it.

It was in a little park tucked back in a corner at Caltech. No cars zooming down the street near by, very few modern intrusions. Perfect site! The weather was mild with a little breeze.

I had a picnic table for the Scriptorium and Baroness Flavia set up a table at the end for her period pigments demo and display. I did an on-the-spot contest for the best illuminated capital letter (limited to J (for Baron John), F (for Baroness Flavia), A (for Angels), V (for Voyagers) and M (for May Day). I had 3 *fabulous* entries from Lachlan, Fausta and Callahan (attending his very first event.)

There were great Science displays (Meala's awesome Da Vinci bridge) and some lovely Arts on display.

Rapier and heavy fighting, the Crimson Spade showed up and I haven't seen those guys in awhile. Fiber play day, awesome as usual. I got to chitchat with people I haven't seen in awhile.

Oh yeah....and I won the Arts people's choice contest with the drollery I did. So....perfect day! :)

Oh oh! And I forgot! The awesome and powerful May Pole Dance! And the guy playing the bagpipes at the end of the day!
