Good signs

since I've been back from vacation, I've wanted to do more about losing weight/eating right/living a more healthy life style. Being surrounded by four people with digital cameras on vacation was kind of horrifying for me.

Yesterday I joined the Weight Watchers group at work. It meets every Wednesday at lunch time on the second floor. I probably wouldn't have gone but my co-worker was interested also and getting to the first meeting is always the hard part. The leader seems pretty good, though I (except for one guy) it's the skinniest ww group I've ever seen :) (Which may be a tribute to the leader's success).

Today I got up 10 minutes earlier so I could walk for a half hour rather than the 20 minutes I've been doing this week. I also brought some old tennis shoes to work so I don't have excuses to walk at lunch time.

I'm reading food labels more and then writing on the package how many points the food item is. The whole idea behind WW is not to utterly deprive yourself of foods you like, but to plan them into your eating schedule. I have some brownie thingies from TJ that are 1 point a piece. I can plan to have one or two at the end of the day when I want something sweet.

AT work I have a huge pile of things to take care of, but I'm afraid my motivation is low right now. But I need to just jump in and start tackling things.

Here goes.

Oh...! And the good sign is... I found the leather bracelet that I made and thought I lost. It was on the floor in the bedroom. I'm wearing it now and for such a small and odd thing, it makes me happy.

P.S. I seem to be down at least a pound from Monday. yay!

hey babe, good on ya for joining the old WW. I am a member too. You can join my lj community ww_members if you're interested. You will have to post an intro to the group once I accept you but it's no biggie. All the details are on the user info page. THe other WW group on Lj don't ask that you be an actual WW member and therefore there is a huge noise to signal ratio - 5 gazilion "how many points in a carrot" type questions, which you'd know if you were ACTUALLY a WW member.

My motivation is low, too. We can do it though!
