Getting tough!
Aug. 30th, 2005 10:33 amI arranged at Home Depot on Saturday to have my patio measured tomorrow for the tile installation and was told to call today to arrange the time. So, I call today and I'm told that the technician (fancy title!) will call me tomorrow between 7 and 9 am to tell me what time. I say "oh no....that won't do, I can't take a full day off for this. But you must. But I can't." So I ask to talk to a supervisor in my firm voice. I get switched to someone else (not a supervisor) but finally get them to more or less agree to send the technician (fancy title) out at 3pm or later. I then ask why do they can't arrange specific times the day before if that is what Home Depot tells their customers. Because Home Depot is giving out bad information, I am told. Not sure who to believe, but in this day and age, I find it hard to believe that they can't at least arrange a morning vs. afternoon preference.
Home front: See above. Once the patio is measure, I can get the tile ordered and the installation arranged. The next item is doing something about the bathroom which desperately needs to be painted and worked on.
Game Front: Played 7th Sea last night (well actually I bought a pair of knitting needles and some yarn and dredged up how it all worked (casting on and basic stitching) as my player was unconscious most of the evening.) We decided to put the 7th Sea campaign to bed for a while and player our magicians in a modern world scenario for a bit. Cool. I liked that character. Da boys are talking about coming back to CoH which ought to be fun. I have characters that totally outlevel them. Ooo...maybe I can talk them into an arena match. :)
SCA Front: Oh yeah....I'm still a member. (I need to get back to work on some projects.) I got invited to a mini-pewter-in which ought to be a blast. And I can get some advice on the card-weaving loom I bought.
Health Front: This ought to be my major focus, but it's really hard. More fruit! More veggies! Water! Walk!
Work Front: If I can just get the Arrested Development script today, I'd be in pretty good shape. That's the only thing I'm worried about today. They start shooting on Thursday and no script yet. Everything else on my desk is not urgent. I got the first Pepper Dennis script but they don't shoot until January. Wow!
