The Kindness of Strangers

As most of you know, I have an odd job. (For those that don't, I handle legal clearances for televisions scripts). This often leaves me calling unusual places asking for strange information. Yesterday, I needed to check air traffic controllers with the FAA. I've done this before, and normally you talk to communications and they check the names on the spot. For some reason, yesterday, after explaining what I needed, I was transferred four times and then dumped onto someone's email who never bothered to call back. I then had my co-worker give it a try (as she likes doing the phone calling....I prefer (when I can) getting information off the internet). She had no luck either and had to leave a message on a different voice mail. No call back.

Today...I called and apparently used the right magic words and got my 3 names checked in about 3 minutes. I just don't get it. Why didn't it work yesterday. Grrrr. Now I need to go do the same thing with the dratted FBI.

Work Front: I've got episodes 4 and 5 of Vanished to work on. I have episode 5 of Prison Break, #3 of Standoff. Oh....and "24" the first script of the season.

Home front: Too much work, not enough home time. Place is a mess.

SCA Front: Projects to do, meetings this weekend. I want to get the books done this weekend. (Maybe I can get it all done except for the sewing part and do that at the Pelican meeting).

101 Front: I really want to work on the shelves, but I need to get my pavilion back. *sigh* I need to call Saul.
