2007 Wrap up

I suppose I should do some philosophical introspection of the past year but, ya know, I've got stuff to do. :)
The last couple of weeks have been pretty nice. I've been off work or on vacation or minimally working for days. I could get used to that. I'm on vacation until Monday but starting to run out of time.
New Year's Eve, my sister and brother-in-law and I went to see Golden Compass which I thought was fabulous. I'm getting into (finally) reading the book now. There is an advantage to not being familiar with a book before going to see a movie based on it. You get to be surprised. (Well provided neither the book nor the movie are totally predictable which GC was not). The art direction is flawless. The acting wonderful. I totally loved it and want to see it again.
New Year's Day I got up at 4:30 in the freakin' AM! We went to the Rose Bowl for the football game! It was *cold* in the morning and we had hot cocoa and oatmeal for breakfast. Cardinal and Gold Club parking is on the golf course next to the Rose Bowl which makes for a fun tail gate party. We met the funniest two guys who were parked next to us. We walked around, looked for souvenirs (extremely expensive) and then went back and made burgers for lunch. It warmed up and it was an awesome day for a game.
The Illinois fans are totally organized and made a tour de force of orange in the stadium. But the Trojans won! Yay! It was pretty much a blow-out. The Illini could not contend with the SC Defense (which is like number 3 in the country). I had a blast. Between winning and losing, it's better to win. :)
Since then I've been puttering and cleaning and stuff like that. I haven't made any major progress but the place doesn't look too bad right now. I've even done some embroidery and hope to get a progress post up about that soon.
Today I need to cast a few embattled quill tokens for 12th Night. I only need a few and that shouldn't take long. Then I need to start designing a new scroll layout for scriptorium. And find the stuff I printed out to start work on Selene's scroll. (Where did I put that? I thought I'd printed out all the words and an idea for the supporters.)
