I think I'm out of sorts today.  I'm having trouble focusing on my work. (Well....you would  too if you had to comb through zillions of microfich-ies looking for the missing bits for this rights report.)

I had some ups and downs in the food arena this past week.  I was totally on top of things Monday through Friday.  Saturday was hard, but I had lots of flex points.  Sunday I was derailed by pizza and then getting home from an out of town trip where I went rather crazy.  Monday was more crazy.  Tuesday I tried to get back on track.  I'm actually down 1.4 from last week (and right about where I was before the holidays).  I need to stay focused through the long weekend.  More exercise!  Make soup!

Over the weekend, Medb and I went up to Nordwache (Fresno) to run a scriptorium.  I think it went very well.  There were about 5 people in the scriptorium plus the host and hostess running in and out.  The attendees ranged from Teleri (one of the best artists in the kingdom) to others who have never done a scroll.  I think everyone got something out of it and I hope they can schedule another session and build some momentum.

I think every traveling scriptorium will present some new wrinkles (what will the space be like, what experience will the attendees have, are we giving too much info and not enough practical training or the other way around, will they be able to get something going when we leave) but all in all I'm pleased.  The more people we reach the more scribes we'll have tomorrow even if we don't interest 100 % of the people we come contact with.

It was a long drive back and forth but Medb and I never ran out of things to talk about it though we mostly focused on scribal matters and things we'd like to see happen in the coming year.  I'm very excited for the College of Scribes.

At home, I'm still de-cluttering and the place is getting better except I'm now due for another trip to the Jewish Council Thrift shop.  Hopefully this weekend I'll get a load out and take in a vast amount of recycling.

And then I want to work on a couple of scrolls (Selene's is next and I found the folder with some ideas in it and I talked to Thomas about doing the calligraphy.  So I just need to knock out the layout.  I also found a piece of opaline vellum to put it on. )  And I want to do some embroidery this week.

Later!

I felt quite similarly for a few days. I kept saying it was work, then the asshats on a list, then money, then... turns out I have some super low grade case of Flu that has mood/concentration voodoo on it. Weird.

I look forward to seeing your next scrolls BTW.

Thank you for doing it. The whole travelling scriptorium is truly a wonderful idea, but a BEEYOTCH to actually implement given the travel, packing and transporting of supplies, etc. If nobody else says it, let me say THANK YOU for doing it.
