The Highs and Lows of the Weekend
Oct. 30th, 2007 10:56 amThe low was *sigh* the football game where my beloved USC Trojans lost to the Oregon Ducks. Now, they didnt get stomped (as
kdmorin suggested :), the game was rather close and if USC hadn't SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT with all the penalties they well might have won. Not that Oregon isn't a good team, they played extremely well and certainly deserve to be in a bowl game this year.
The highs were getting the calligraphy on a scroll done (with only two mistakes). It's not my best calligraphy and it's not my worst, but it's done. The artwork is finalized and penciled in. And I got the gliding done.
The best part of the weekend was a couple of parties. First up was a birthday tea party where we took over the entire tea shop. It was fun, old friends, new friends, people I'd seen 60 minutes earlier and people I haven't seen in years. I wore a hat and the place has extra hats for those who didn't bring one. (We made several people wear hats who hadn't originally intended to. :)
The second party was a Halloween party and that was a total blast. I dressed up in a Firefly outfit with gun holster and all and everyone was in costume, some of them totally amazing (and/or funny). I'd forgotten how much fun it is to just sit and chit-chat with people. I met a couple of people I didn't know (which is the definition of a successful party according to my mom :)
