Good Morning World!

I just got back from a 2 mile walk! I'm trying to get back to a regular walking routine. I'd kind of neglected it will doing the Artist Way book. I'm still trying to do AW, but I'm only writing about 1 page in the morning rather than 3. Right now it's more important that I get in a good walk in the morning and the morning pages were seriously cutting into my walking time. Basic rule: Do not go two days in a row without exercising. Corollary: You never know what tomorrow will bring, so exercise every day.
I've been trying out WoW and I"m afraid I'm a little meh. It's very pretty, and I did love how my fireball went *whoosh* but I don't get the same sense of excitement that CoH brings me. I certainly don't have enough time for two MMO's. I don't actually allocate that much time to computer gaming at all. I average about an hour a day.
Tonight is Kingdom Scriptorium, but I'm thinking I will stay and work on a scroll at home rather than spending an 2 hours on the freeway back and forth. I want to get Selene's scroll transferred to good paper so I can get it to Thomas for calligraphy. I need to figure out when I will see him. He's a super fast calligrapher, but he does live in San Diego so it's not like I can just run it over to his house. I need to catch him at an event. (Or Thea).
I tried to get caught up on work yesterday but I'm afraid I'm way behind even though I got a lot done. I want to go to the farmers market today (if they still have it) and buy a plant. My mom sent me an article that people with plants on their desks are happier then people with windows. I shall test that theory.
Okay.....enough stalling, time to go get rather for work.

Date: 2008-06-22 07:36 am (UTC)Age of Conan, so far both my husband and I are enjoying the game. It can be a bit tedious since you pretty much are stuck in an area till you're level 19 but depending upon what type of class you're playing there are slight differences in how you progress in the 'nighttime' quests which makes it interesting to try different types of characters - you get a different point of view of the storyline. The game has a really neat story that reveals how your character came to be there and has a destiny etc.
AoC is very quest oriented game and it kinda sucks that you have to wait to level 20 before you can work on tradeskills. It was level 40 but they changed it to 20.
Graphics are great! Movement seems a bit quirky at times just because your character sometimes moves in an odd manner. The game engine seems unable to cater to the unexpected player turnout (the game was sold to over 700,000 before the game was released), so far on the weekends the game tends to lock up. We've attributed that to our own connection but now we're thinking it's the game unable to handle the huge load of players.
The fighting is different. It's more like a console game system like playstation. There's combo fighting skills and directional fighting. I haven't been really happy with the items looted from drops or rewards for quests. Usually I already have items that's better than the higher level items I find or get from completing quests. So far 'grouping' isn't focused on as much as it is in other games. Nighttime quests (for the level 5-19 area) are solo encounters and you can pretty much solo through level 19. I've only gotten a couple of people out of that area and haven't played them much so I'm not sure how much they can do solo at level 20 and up.
So, it's a good game, we're enjoying it. I hope they improve some stuff and I'm sure I'll learn a lot more eventually to know whether or not I like the post 19 gameplay.
